Uranium

"Uranium" was written during my 'wind ensemble' phase fresh out of high school. Despite being a piece for wind ensemble, it was written and conceived more like a progressive rock anthem inspired by the likes of Snarky Puppy and Polyphia, owing to its subject material. "Uranium" is a piece about incredible power, the awesome power of one element to power a nation and the equally terrifying power to destroy another. Its primary motif details a chain reaction–– the result of fission–– while a nagging ratchet–– imitating a geiger counter–– looms in the background.
